Humphries Scientific is a consulting business founded by Dr Bill Humphries.  Dr Humphries had 36 years of experience in, conceiving, planning, managing and carryout industrial R&D projects in CSIRO before leaving to set up his own consulting business.

 

He has a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Physics and Business Certificates in Quantitative Analysis and Decision Making Techniques.

 

During his career he has worked with many companies ranging from SMEs to multi-national companies in areas such as defence, space, aerospace, technical textiles, composites, scientific instrumentation and infrastructure.  Many of the projects he worked on resulted in products and processes which were commercialised and provided the client with significant competitive advantage.

 

Humphries Scientific is dedicated to helping companies improve their competitiveness by identifying where technology innovation can improve their value proposition and by reducing the risk and cost of applied R&D.  This is achieved by assisting companies to analyse their business model, identify their key value proposition and analyse how innovation can enhance this value proposition.  Thie risk of undertaking the R&D projects identified in this process is reduced by accessing quantitative information from the burgeoning global open access research publications in the fields of interest to individual companies.  This information underpins the efficient planning and conduct of industrial research projects reducing risks, costs and time to market giving companies a competitive advantage.
